logo GazzParmaAs the third essays Giuliano Ladolfi publish about "Atelier" (the magazine he founded in 1996), from his new poetry collection "Certificate" emerges the need to face reality without reservations, with the courage (almost, I would say, from the Christian origins) choices blunt, total. What is necessary to the poet witness? Firstly that the world in which he was born and grew up, the countryside around Lake Orta, continues to exist, although still trying to savor the flavors and spirit, living far from the dizziness of history, condemning to a radical "absence ", on one condition, almost, from the spectrum (a condition reminiscent of Sereni prisoner in Algeria while burning Europe).
Addressing a party that remains hidden, immersed itself in the distance, the author confesses to feel windward aporias insoluble. Of course the figures, habits, rituals dell'immemoriale past (the saints of the calendar, the sense of family, the food, the wine, the work, the tolling of the bell tower) are still the "threads" of a human tissue of humble beauty, yet today, in '"parallel universe" of the country, the truth is hidden, the words have something stagnant and even the exercise of poetry it is difficult
("M'accingo ogni mattina, ma ogni lettera / abortisce sul bianco della pagina")

 

 

If at least the friendship could create an antidote to this sense of poverty day would be different, but the same friendship, dialogue with the other person unknown to us, stremandosi abysmal space that separates the city from the countryside and clashing with the comings and goings the other, with his reticence, perhaps his lies, never comes to free the "word in the round" of which the poet is hungry but that seems impossible to pronounce the time of the feelings on the run.

In the second part of the collection the difficult dialogue but insists shifting his lines in the heart of the "presence" of history, in that "new world", the city, which is suffocating traffic, theater faces "wax", place of fads, sex interchangeable rap rhythm, "digital life", dump, falsehood dominated by a "breath of death". Right here, in the new Babel, while men yell in stadiums and death "reviews the temples of the money", while the identity of the West and of each one of us falters, the poet feels the urgency painful to witness what it means to be a father.

His two children, Silvia and Federico, seeking their path of truth in the carnival inauthentic often seem to have lost hope and the father is unable to communicate with them, as if "a ditch three thousand / year" separate him from their experiences. Yet between the steps and gestures of the two young people something miraculous at times, reborn: the idea of ​​a journey stretched to infinity, the desire, perhaps unconscious, of a life that could "transform matter into light."
