Two young people, an Istrian girl living in the Fisherman's Village and a Slovenian official of the European Community, without knowing each other, investigate the vicissitudes of their respective grandparents, deceased for years, who, during the Second World War, one an Italian soldier and the other a Slavic partisan, had exchanged gunfire on the Gorizia Karst. The story develops between historical investigations and unexpected encounters.
