Coppola Maria Teresa
She has been familiar with poetry since childhood. At the home of the poet Girolamo Comi – founder of the Accademia Salentina, the literary journal *L’Albero* and the publishing house of the same name – she rubbed shoulders with literary figures such as A. Gatto, D. Valeri, V. Bodini, L. Anceschi, O. Macri, M. Corti and R. Durante. Over time, this familiarity became a conscious awareness through her reading and was cemented by her close friendship with the poet and art critic Raffaele Carrieri.
She initially published essays and reviews in the philosophy journal ‘Prassi e Teoria’ (F. Angeli). Her poems and several fairy tales appear in various print and online anthologies, in the Encyclopaedia of Contemporary Italian Poets 2022 (Aletti) and in the History of Contemporary Literature from the Late Twentieth Century to the Present Day (Helicon).
In 2023, she published the poetry collections *Sottovoce* (Helicon) and *C’è di più* (Aletti). These were followed in 2025 by *Ragionare d’amore* (Puntoacapo) and *Cielo abbastanza* (Helicon). *Rubato* is due to be published shortly by G.C.L.
She has received various honours and numerous national and international awards, including: ‘Il Canto di Dafne’ 2023, ‘Giugno di San Vigilio’ 2024, ‘Caravaggio’ 2024, ‘J. Austen’ 2025, ‘Ossi di seppia’ 2025, ‘A.U.P.I.’ 2025, “Sandomenichino” 2025, “Autori Italiani” 2025, “Accademia Tiberina” 2025, “L. A. Seneca” 2025, “Vitruvio – The Muses’ 2025, ‘M. Yourcenar’ 2025, ‘S. Camellini’ 2025, ‘Sarzana’ 2025, various editions of the ‘Casentino’ Prize and the ‘Accademia Casentinese’ Prize, and the ‘Literature’ Prize, 41st edition, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Naples.
