Letizia Dimartino born in Messina in 1953 and lives in Ragusa, where she taught for many years. She published in 2001 her first collection of poems, Verso un mare oscuro (Empoli, Ibiskos), followed in 2003 by Differenze (Lecce, Manni) and in 2007, by Oltre (Comiso, Archilibri). Her last books, La voce chiama, has been published in 2010 by Archilibri (Comiso). Her poems and reviews have appeared in literary magazines «Atelier», «Polimnia», «Poeti e Poesia», «Poesia», «Almanacco del ramo d’oro», «La Mosca di Milano», «Le voci della Luna», «Capoverso». La silloge Cose, coming from La voce chiama, has been published on «Almanacco dello Specchio 2009» (Milano, Mondadori).

She is present in anthologies (Ibiskos 2002, Almanacco dello Specchio Mondadori 2009)and has received several national awards. In 2008 he won the first prize of Concorso nazionale di poesia "Simone Cavarra" (Ragusa). Oltre was reported at the 2008 awards "Montano" and "Città di Marineo", then in 2009was a finalist for the award "Astrolabio" and for the award "Antica Badia di San Savino". For fiction has received a special mention of the literary prize announced by the ’"Associazione culturale Evaluna" (Centro studi del comune di Napoli), with the collection of short stories Il senso negato, which was also a finalist in the competition "La vita in prosa". The anthology Acciaio was reported in the national competition "Lorenzo Montano 2010". Her most recent work is Metallo, first prize for unpublished (prize "Gilda Trisolini") of the cultural circle Rhegium Julii, whitch became a book in November 2010 by the same association.
