Fazio Raffaella

Raffaela Fazio was born in Arezzo in 1971, where she remained until she completed her school-leaving certificate. She spent ten years in various European countries: France, Germany, England, Switzerland and Belgium. She graduated in European Languages and Politics from the University of Grenoble and specialised at the Geneva School of Interpreters and Translators. On her return to Italy, she settled in Rome, where she works as a translator. In Rome, she obtained a diploma in Religious Studies and a Master’s degree in Cultural Heritage from the Pontifical Gregorian University.

In the field of iconography, she has published, in addition to several articles, two guides: *Face of Faith. A Short Guide to Early Christian Images* (2011) and *La corona che non appassisce. L’escatologia nella scultura funeraria dei primi cristiani* (Contatti, 2020).

She is the author of several books of poetry, including *L’arte di cadere* (Biblioteca dei Leoni, 2015) with a foreword by Paolo Ruffilli; *Ti slegherai le trecce* (Coazinzola Press, 2017) with an afterword by Francesco Dalessandro; *L’ultimo quarto del giorno* (La Vita Felice, 2018) with a foreword by Francesco Dalessandro; *Midbar* (Raffaelli Editore, 2019) with a foreword by Massimo Morasso; *Tropaion* (puntocapo, 2020) with a foreword by Gianfranco Lauretano; Life-Size. 2008–2018 (Arcipelago Itaca, 2020) with a foreword by Daniele Barbieri; Mechanics of Solids (Puntoacapo, 2021) with a foreword by Giancarlo Pontiggia and an afterword by Paolo Ruffilli; A Skeleton for Flight (Raffaelli Editore, 2021) with a foreword by Giovanna Rosadini and a note by Salvatore Ritrovato; The Shifts of Desire (Moretti&Vitali, 2023) with a foreword by Alfredo Rienzi and an introduction by Giancarlo Pontiggia.

She has translated Rainer Maria Rilke’s *Silence and Storm: Love Poems* (Marco Saya, 2019, with an afterword by Massimo Morasso) and Edgar Allan Poe’s *Nevermore*. *Poems from Elsewhere* (Marco Saya, 2021, with an afterword by Leonardo Guzzo), works by Renée Vivien in *The Burning Agony of Roses* (Marco Saya, 2023, with an afterword by Marie-José Tramuta) and works by Rupert Brooke in *Love Is a Breach in the Walls* (puntoacapo, 2025, with an afterword by Mauro Ferrari) .

In 2021, his book of short stories, *Next Stop. Stories Between Two Stops* (Fara, 2021), was published following his win of the first prize in the ‘Narrapoetando 2021’ competition.
