Carmine Matarazzo teaches Pastoral Theology at the St. Thomas Aquinas Section of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy (Naples), where he is Director of the Institute of Pastoral Sciences. He devoted attention to the thought of Pope Francis with the study: From the end of the world a new Christian humanism, Siena, Cantagalli, 2014. He is an expert on the thought of some French philosophers, such as Jacques Maritain and Étienne Gilson, of whom he was the first translations and critical editions of works not yet widespread in Italy. Coordinator of the Research Project: Michel Henry: phenomenology as pedagogy of Life. For a project of person for the third millennium, co-funded by the National Service for Higher Studies in Theology and Religious Sciences of the CEI and the Pftim. With G. Iaia he edited the volume of M. Henry, Four essays on the ethics of life, Naples, Guida, 2016.
