Giovanni Peirone was born in Albisola Superiore on 4/10/1961. He attended classical high school in Savona and graduated in Pedagogy in Genoa.
He is a self-taught guitar player and writes songs and poems.
He teaches literature at a technical institute in Imperia, where he has lived for some time. Some of his poems were published in ‘Il foglio di Tiglieto’, a magazine edited at the time by Gianni Priano, a philosophy teacher and writer from Voltri with a passion for songwriting, whose sixteen poems he set to music, publishing them on a self-produced CD. One of them was later included on a CD by art critic and songwriter Franco Boggero, who reinterpreted it.
He took part in a collective reading of poems in Sanremo organised by the poet and critic Fabio Barricalla, a lecturer in Literature, and in a book fair in Imperia, commenting on his own poems in a meeting run by Francesca Rotta, a lecturer and organiser of cultural events, for which Peirone performed his own songs several times together with the singer Francesca Pilade.
