Born in Picerno (PZ) in 1952, Rosa Salvia has lived in Rome since 1986.
A high school teacher of philosophy and history, she made her debut with the short novel La parabola di Elsa (Osanna, 1991). Her subsequent publications in verse include: Intermittenze (Aletti, 2003), Luce e polvere (Aletti, 2005); Le parole del mare (LietoColle, 2007, Cinque terre Prize - Siro Guerrieri); Mi sta a cuore la trasparenza dell'aria (La Vita Felice, 2012, finalist for the Alda Merini Prize - Brunate 2017); Dolore dei Sassi (puntoacapo 2015, special mentions at the Lorenzo Montano Prize and the Thesaurus Prize - Matera 2016); Il giardino dell'attesa (Samuele, 2017, special mention Premio Lorenzo Montano, 2018, selection Premio Città di Como 2018); Tempo innocente (LietoColle, 2019, Prize with honourable mention as unpublished collection at Premio Lorenzo Montano 2018, finalist unpublished Premio Europa in versi 2018; winner unpublished (third classified) Premio Luciana Notari 2020).
Her published and unpublished poems as well as short stories and reviews of texts by contemporary poets have been published in various anthologies and literary magazines online or in print such as "L'immaginazione" and "Poesia".
