Spallino Valeria
Valeria Spallino was born in Palermo on 20 May 1969. Passionate about music, art and literature, she studied classical harp with maestros Elena Zaniboni and Maria Cristina Rosso at the Conservatorio di Musica Vincenzo Bellini, now Alessandro Scarlatti, and graduated in Architecture from the University of Palermo, where she lives and works.
She works as a freelance professional in the fields of design and restoration, prevention and safety, and teaches technical and artistic subjects in public and public schools. He has cultivated a passion for writing since childhood, preferring poetry for its character of hope and freedom.
She has published the collection Non io poeta (Prova d'Autore, Catania 2011), a sylloge that won third place - ex equo - at the 4th Pablo Neruda International Literary Prize 2013/2014 for Section B Published Poetry organised by Edizioni Agemina of Florence, the essay Michele Perriera. La morte non vince la memoria (Prova d'Autore, Catania 2015), the book Marina Abramović. Il paradosso dell'assenza, Performance 1967-2017 (Villaggio Maori Edizioni, Catania 2018), the collection Atelier Josef Sudek, Partitura del silenzio (Spazio Cultura edizioni, Palermo 2018), finalist at the XLV Premio Internazionale di Poesia città di Marineo for Section A Poesia Edita, as well as numerous contributions on various texts and websites.
