Silvano Trevisani, a philosophy graduate and professional journalist, is editor-in-chief of nuovodialogo.com, editor of the bimonthly poetry magazine Il sarto di Ulm and the quarterly fiction magazine Il sogno di Orez (Ed. Macabor). For many years he was responsible for the cultural section of the Corriere del giorno di Puglia e Lucania, he has collaborated with L'Osservatore Romano, and he collaborates with Repubblica Bari and other newspapers and magazines.
An essayist, poet, writer and art critic, he has published over 50 volumes on history, economics, art and literature, as well as works of poetry and fiction. He conceived the official celebrations for the twentieth anniversary of Giorgio de Chirico in 1998 on behalf of the De Chirico Foundation, writing an essay for the catalogue De Chirico e la Metafisica del Mediterraneo (Rizzoli, 1998). His fiction works include the humorous novel Lo norevole (Manni, 1997), with a preface by Vincenzo Mollica, Storie di terre di sole (2nd ed. Capone, 2007), with a preface by Donato Valli, Ombre sulla città perduta (Radici Future, 2017) and the satirical thriller Cosa sarei senza di me!? (2023, Radici Future).
Among his numerous essays: Creatività e inclusione (Creativity and Inclusion) (Rubbettino, 2013); Alda Merini e Michele Pierri, cronaca di un amore sconosciuto (Alda Merini and Michele Pierri, Chronicle of an Unknown Love) (Edit@ 2016). Other publications include: Viaggio nella Puglia archeologica (Journey through Archaeological Puglia) (2002, Capone), Borboni e briganti (Bourbons and Brigands) (2003, Capone). In 2019, he edited the tribute volume for the tenth anniversary of her death: Alda Merini tarantina (ed. Macabor), and in 2022 Taranto città della poesia (Macabor) at the conclusion of the project Sulle orme di Alda Merini (In the footsteps of Alda Merini), for the Municipality of Taranto. His poetry publications include: Poesie (Nuova Amadeus, 1995), with a preface by Giacinto Spagnoletti, 5 poesie d'amore, in “Amore, amore... nei versi di dieci poeti pugliesi” (Edizioni AltaMarea, 1998, preface by Donato Valli), L'altra vita delle parole (The Other Life of Words) (Nemapress, 2012), with prefaces by Plinio Perilli and Cristanziano Serricchio, Geometrie del desiderio (Geometries of Desire), with illustrations by ten great artists (Ed. Galleria Margherita, Taranto 2012), Le parole finiranno, non l'amore (Words Will End, Not Love) (2020, Manni editore). Il poeta scomparso e altre storie (The Missing Poet and Other Stories) (2024, Edizioni Puntoacapo) with a preface by Mauro Ferrari. He has been featured in numerous anthologies and print and online magazines.
For Macabor editions, he has written numerous essays and edited works, including the anthology (2023): La guerra che è in noi (The War Within Us) with a preface by Eraldo Affinati and poems by some of Italy's best-known poets, the essay Pasolini: l'ergastolo della mia vocazione (Pasolini: The Life Sentence of My Vocation) (2024); Orme di luce (Footprints of Light, an anthology of young Italian poetry), 2025; and the drama La sera dopo (The Evening After, at the Cenacolo), 2025. He has edited monographs on Italian poets, including Milo De Angelis, Ennio Cavalli, Isabella Leardini, and Daniela Pericone. Those on Umberto Piersanti and Giovanna Rosadini are forthcoming.
