If the lines of the previous collection "Seaside" Gianfranco Barcella had inspired watching the sea from the shore, for this new book of poetry"Quaderno di bordo" (Giuliano Ladolfi Editore, 2014) did not hesitate to be led by an imaginary ship through the waves, mirroring his soul, so to entrust to the poetic word calms and storms marine, who saw reflected in his soul.
Sea as a dwelling, therefore; sea as love; sea as a path to arrive at knowledge; sea horizon, a destination that continually moves and moves away, like a mirage; sea as immensity, but also as loneliness, which can generate, along with dark visions of abandonment, pictures of infinite beauty.
