We will be held on June 27, 2016 at the Residence Rest House Saccardo, in Milan, the presentation of the book "See for yourself", first publication of the journalist and radio host and television Manuela Donghi edited by Giuliano Ladolfi Publisher. Made in collaboration with the Association of Friends of "Centro Dino Ferrari" and Korian Group, the European leader in the management of residences for the third and fourth age, the book recounts the journey in the parallel world of Alzheimer's patients through the eyes of a ' teenager. To act as a common thread to the story is the meeting / clash between the typical carefree age of the protagonist and the experienced debilitating disease, with which the young must begin to live.

"Through this book I wanted to talk about Alzheimer's disease in all its hardness and complexity through the eyes of a very young girl, in a simple, direct and without prejudices," explained Manuela Donghi. "I created a character deliberately nameless and relatives in the nursing home where the story is set just so they could tell the reality impartially. The emotional involvement of the protagonist comes slowly and corresponds to one of his inner growth, which pushes more and more to attend "that place" as she defines itself in a sort of personal diary ".

Part of the proceeds of the book will be donated to Friends "Centro Dino Ferrari", which supports and promotes scientific research of "Centro Dino Ferrari" in the field of neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases. Speakers at the event Federico Buffa, sports journalist, as a narrator, the author Manuela Donghi, Mariuccia Rossini, Chairman of Korian Italy, Elio Scarpini of the Friends of "Centro Dino Ferrari", an expert Korian in non-drug therapies.

The presentation will also be the occasion to illustrate the latest innovations in the non-drug therapies for the treatment of patients suffering from the disease, such as the camouflage of residential and architectural spaces, the Doll Therapy and Ealing Gardens (or ortho-therapy). But not only an expert nutritionist in the treatment of the disease will explain the importance of nutrition for the prevention and treatment of "non-memory." The journey through the non-memory will end within the virtual passenger car designed by the Politecnico di Milano to allow guests of the Rest House to simulate a trip of 45 minutes train. Recently introduced within non-drug therapies, the "virtual train" is a powerful method to appease the anxiety escape that accompanies the days of Alzheimer's patients.
