The human tragedy is, in broad terms, always the same, today as yesterday. The categories of evil are similar to each other. Overpowering, intolerance, indifference are islands of the same archipelago. Writing poetry, however, in addition to a universal call, also responds to the human need to investigate the specific folds of contemporary darkness and this is exactly what Roberto Zaccaria can do, with his subtle disenchantment (from the preface by Monica Guerra).
