The silloge of Guglielmo Aprile traces the tones of the chorus of the Greek tragedy in some ways and for others the Lamentations of Jeremiah: the expressionist style accords with the drama that humanity is experiencing. There is no opening of hope. Pessimism does not allow for exceptions. If reality itself loses consistency, there is no possibility of authenticity and the decay is total, global, existential; it only has a "temporary" identity, subject to constant changes, a partial location: whatever I becomes possible in a process of self-creation and unstoppable self-destruction.
