The essays presented in this paper revolve around some aspects of publishing and writing, particularly poetry, as they are understood and practiced in our country. The intent is to try to give a somewhat different view than the prevailing one of the existence of a healthy publishing market, of an effective and honest militant criticism, of the presence of quality writing, of a literary genre (that of poetry) that is alive and well.
