For Rosa Salvia, the poetic word is that state of ever-vigilant alertness – never complacent – towards the beyond; a spark of imagination in the darkness of the journey; an arabesque that the imagination draws around an immemorial birth and an unpredictable destiny, in order to preserve the irresolvable conflict between word and thing, imagination and reality.

Another persistent and recognisable theme in the author’s work lies in the impossibility of the word to express the absolute, to penetrate the mysterious realms of time, death and the very enigma of the human being (from the preface by Franca Alaimo).
